CNN is doing liberals a disservice by being so stupid.

Maybe you should point to something in that article that is definitively false or something - because as far as I can tell it's dead on.

Somewhat obscure? Are we talking single digits here?

We are discussing national-level movements here - obviously the "alt-left" that Hannity and Trump are talking about doesn't exist. That is a made up term with no meaning. Just because there is a tiny club somewhere - or maybe just one blog - that named themselves "alt-left" doesn't actually change that - especially since they're totally irrelevant and nobody has ever heard of them.

Typing the terms into the address bar isn't especially meaningful, because it provides no context, just some weird blog. Asking people who study this stuff for a living if there is such a thing as 'alt left' is much more sensible.

Dunno, this seems needlessly pedantic really, at most, the CNN could have mentioned the existence of this blog as a footnote, but as far as I can tell, they're not relevant enough even for that.

There is a difference between being stupid and being selective.

@xxxxxx I thought your question was about your linked article.

Is there really 'an alt-left'?
It's a "made-up term" used by people on the right to "suggest there is a similar movement on the left," Segal said.

Then there is a link about Antifa

What is Antifa?
Antifa is short for anti-fascists. The term is used to define a broad group of people whose political beliefs lean toward the left -- often the far left -- but do not conform with the Democratic Party platform. The group doesn't have an official leader or headquarters, although groups in certain states hold regular meetings.

Seems a bit nonsensical.

I apologize if I misunderstood your question

@xxxxxx Your link (in your question) brings up a CNN page with a related article "What is Antifa?" http://edition.cnn.com/2017/08/14/us/what-is-antifa-trnd/index.html

no biggie
