Is Marklin better or Hornby?

Of course one is HO scale and the other OO, but they are still comparable in size... but in terms of quality and range?

It probably depends on the rolling stock you want. I would expect Hornby to have more British rolling stock than Marklin does for instance.

@ninalanyon That's true. I don't mind rolling stock from either country, though. Was just wondering which one is better quality.

@chilloutab2 Can't answer that I'm afraid, my childhood train sets were all Hornby but that was over fifty years ago and both companies have probably changed substantially over the last half century. And of course the control systems of both are much more sophisticated now.
