Help Me Find Vintage Toys! [I Love Toys]
Hello. Am looking for some vintage toys from the 70's and early 80's. I should have told my parents and brother and others back in the 1975-1981 period that I liked these toys and absolutely loved the first couple. Those should have been set aside and kept indefinitely in a trunk or chest. Then we could have passed them on to children, grand-children, and other descendants.
I sent this message to care@melissaanddoug as they occasionally create products that emulate vintage toys.
Hello.
I know you make educational toys many of which emulate those that were available around 40 to 60 years ago. After having studied the vintage toy market for about 45 years I have settled on several, including a couple that are just about impossible to find now but were moderately common in the 70's and very early 80's when I was a child. Will share descriptions of a couple below with the hope that there is some interest in bringing these back into production. I know there would be some demand for such among boomers and x'ers who are parents and grandparents of kids.
Hello.

I. There was a small flat yellow bird with a sliding switch in a groove. It had 2 parallel faces. The switch enabled one to select from among several recorded songs: chirps, wharbles, tweets, whirs, whistles etc. This cannot now be found even in pictures.
II. a weather prediction tool for 7 regions of the country, 8 sky types, 8 wind directions, and warm and cold seasons. The housing was plastic and there were 8 paper strips that could be inserted into it. This cannot now be found even in pictures.
III. a photo-building toy with 3 prints: red, green, blue or red yellow and blue ... Through the combination of these filters, screens, plastic sheets one could produce a photo-like picture of a car with occupants etc. This cannot now be found even in pictures.
IV. Noah's Arc... Am not sure who produced this but believe it is still available.
V Various walking sound-and-light-producing robots and such figures as pulsar man and a figure with a projecting possibly flashing "head lamp" Do not know the availability status of these.
