All Part Of Great Science Fiction

I've always been a huge geek on 'Dr Who' - before my time, of course, but I was always mesmerised by Tom Baker and his floppy hat and long scarf! - which did coincide with my growing up and the show taking on a new, modern resurgence. Part of my love for it is about the time travel aspects.

One of my favourite, like, ever movies on the subject is the film adaption of H.G Well's 1895 novel, called 'The Time Machine' from 1960, starring Rod Taylor. I was, and still am fascinated by it.

We've had the whole 'The Terminator' franchise, of course, and there's been all the Marvel Series/Film tie-ins that have had to do with multiple realities, and with the tech it's made it all I think a little easier for people to get their heads around.

Part of that fascination is imagining what would happen and where would you go? To see the Dinosaurs? Check out Ancient Greece? To Swinging Sixties London?

In a very real way, all these films and tv series transport you back in time to whatever period they are based in...so you could say you're time travelling already!

What period of history would YOU go back to?

Probably from the very late 1800,'s to the late 1920's when some modern conviences like indoor plumbing, electric, photography, autos and recorded music, and a shifting and more open acceptance of sexuality and swinging were coming into vogue. My grandmother admitted to me once she was a burlesque dancer and made me promise to never tell any of my other family members. She knew they would be to judgemental of her and knew that I would NOT be that way. She was an amazing lady from an interesting time in American history.
