Under your skin? When I read this article, I had a mental picture of a Dalek voice, shouting: “Warning! Conservative! Conservative! Exterminate!

Actually if that should happen they would need to force the issue. Just by the fact any particular person doesn't have one you're marked anyway. Try even getting certain products without a credit/debit card online.

They will use coercion, like they tried with the vaccine mandate: no vax, no job. @DeWayfarer

@Carissimi again, they don't need to. You are marked already!

@Carissimi credit/debit cards, drivers licenses and ID cards with chips, even when you are born with a SSN!

Oh, right, but we still have cash (for now), and older technology if we choose to use it, so although it may be inconvenient, it’s still a choice. The chip gives no choice. It’s full control of not only your health status and vaccine passport, but pretty much everything you do, spending, where, when, what for, etc; @DeWayfarer

@Carissimi apparently you haven't come across places that refuse cash. Try getting a motel room sometime.

Heck even my own apartment manager refuses cash! And no, not even checks!
Carissimi · 70-79, F
Only once. In 2019, at Philadelphia airport, I only found one sit down restaurant that would take cash. Credit cards/debit cards have been a part of life for years, and it was between you and the bank, not you, the bank, and the government, which is how the chip will work. @DeWayfarer

@Carissimi you are marked already! Heck this new "true ID" has forced it. There's a chip in it!

Try getting a job without one!
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I agree we are marked already, as you put it, but it’s still not all encompassing control of our autonomy as the chip would be. If I decide to drive to the store, right now, and leave my phone at home, and use cash for my purchases, they are not tracking me. @DeWayfarer

@Carissimi and again try getting a motel room! I'm not kidding. They ALL refuse cash!

Try renting a car as well with cash!
Carissimi · 70-79, F
And again, I’m saying that it was between you and your credit card company or bank. The government was not involved in your everyday transactions. That’s the difference. @DeWayfarer
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Carissimi true ID is solely government! No banks involved!

And you must present it with any credit card.
Carissimi · 70-79, F
I don’t have a true ID card, although I think it’s on my driving license. I never have to show ID using a credit card anywhere. @DeWayfarer
