Chips ahoy?

With Coronavirus on the rise, do you think this will be the impetus to start implanting people with a chip containing their ID, health insurance, bank accounts, medical history, etc.? No need to touch any keypads or handle dirty bills, simply pass through a scanner. Is it on the way?
