Surgical implants are very tricky. The rejection is pretty high.
You're basically inserting a foreign body into yourself and would need anti rejection medication all the time. It's not like a pacemaker either your talking about neural brain connections. And your immune system recognizes foreign bodies by DNA and Antigens, certain types of proteins.
