Dubai, Shanghai, are on the leading edge in supertowers pushing the 800 meter standard. A division of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill who designed the Burj, leads the way with many other ambitious projects there.

@Nexus My cynicism? I merely wish that the resources that would be consumed by that folly, both intellectual and financial, be applied to some of the huge list of pressing problems that ordinary people have.
