It has taken me a while to realize that trying to prove someone wrong isn't worth it.

It might make me feel empowered momentarily but the whole trying to prove that they're wrong is just giving them power over me. Learning life lessons lately.

Save your strength for things that mater. They`ll eventually prove themselves wrong.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Degbeme it happens every. single. time.
@Degbeme you are quite right
Been there
Even if it's positive it's still not worth the emotional and mental toll it may take to do it ..

" whether you think you can or can't you're right " by someone I forgot their name ...
@Chernobylplaygrounds definitely not worth the strain
Fungirlmmm · 51-55
Hell ya! If you want to believe 2 plus 2 is 5 then I am going to say, "Sure is. Keep on."
@Fungirlmmm damn right lol
akindheart · 61-69, F
i prove it to myself. I use my head over my heart, look at facts first, then i cut them off like a wart...zippity doo da...gone.
@akindheart smart lady

100% a waste of time. Sometimes people just have to learn on their own.
@ZulXeroth exactly
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
Yep. I learned that lesson awhile ago but still way longer than it should've been. It's never worth it and even when you finally change their mind (rare) it is never fully satisfying.

With that being said, sadly I have to do this as part of my job due to the nature of my work and it wastes a substantial amount of energy.
@Turtlepower If I had to do it as part of my job I would be constantly stressed. I hope you have good stress management
Turtlepower · 36-40, M
@Bexsy I try lol
JohnnyNoir · M
Internet or real life?

@Bexsy that is true

Newfound1 · M
That's just wrong. 🤣.
@Newfound1 😛
NudasPriest · 46-50, M
Change, while prompted from without, must ultimately come from within.

That can be so emotionally exhausting, nothing wrong with knowing one’s truth and having a quiet strength with it.

Besides they’re always sorry afterwards right ?

fubar 🎪💕
@PostOrganicChill exactly. As long as you know. Just let them think they know 😌
iamonfire696 · 36-40, F
I completely agree with you
@iamonfire696 I'm learning. Just a little late
iamonfire696 · 36-40, F
@Bexsy I learned late as well.

People will eventually see them for who they really are. It just takes some time but it happens.
