When you were a kid, did people pretend to be your friend so they could make fun of you, gossip about you, and bully you?

I can’t count how many fake “friends” I had growing up and how many sleepovers I was invited to just to be the object of their torment.

I learned to start kicking ass and to stop trusting people lol

It was hard to make friends after that.

I used to have a friend who always picked someone to tease, mock and pick at. And everyone kind of looked at it: "it's fun as long as it's not me". If it was just him, I wasn't too sensitive about it but if he and another friend ganged up, that was crossing the line for me.
I wouldn't say it was a fake friend, just the dynamics I wouldn't tolerate past high school.
