Wondering if getting to know people is worth it

The more I try the more I'm finding I don't know if it's worth trying to connect with people. it takes a lot of emotional energy for me to connect with someone and for them to just abruptly decide to stop talking to me and not say hey this bothers me . No one seems to want to be honest and real anymore. Somehow I expect trolls/rude people to respond in a way to upset me so whatever.

With age, I don't even feel like getting to know a new person. It's so much work

@Reflection2 i understand this so well unfortunately. It takes so much energy to put effort into knowing someone and letting them know you and then you have to do it again when that friend decides you don't fulfill their needs anymore.
