Remember pen pals?

I moved to a different country at age 12 and wrote snail mail to one friend for years. I still have all of her letters somewhere. She texted me a couple years ago and said she was moving and her box of my letters had to go 😭

I remember! I had a pen pal in England for years. Then lost touch. But I remember the thrill of getting mail.

Writing and getting real letters was nice, I miss that too.

I've got a few friends outside the US here, they make great pen pals.

I communicate through the mail. The written word is not dead.

Pen pals we actually had those on email in prison and no I ain't talking about bubba in the shower either LOL

I still have an old fashion Pen Pal. We been friends since the early 1980s. They moved away and promised to write. Once a month we still hand write each other

I made a friend who now lives in England through "pen pals" in the 90s.

I had one in fifth grade, our class pen palled with another school's fifth grade class. One day we all went on a meet after easter vacation, my pal turned out to be a complete psycho his classmates warned me about not to be left alone with, but never told me why. I found out years later he got sent to prison for stalking an ex gf and attempted murder of her.
