Today's the last day for that one friend of mine to move out of her apartment and into mine.

I'm a little annoyed already bc she was slow getting her shit packed up. Movers came this morning, and a lot of the stuff just wasn't ready in time, so she needs me to help her lug the rest of it to her storage unit. I helped her move most of the stuff she needs to my place Friday and yesterday, and it only hit me yesterday, just how much shit she's expecting to keep here. Bud, you know you're gonna be living in the walk-in closet, right? How are you gonna fit more shit than you could probably fit in a small truck bed in that thing?

She messaged me today complaining that her brother was asking questions about the movers and why they didn't haul all her shit yesterday, after she asked him to help her out again with moving stuff. And I thought to myself, like dawg, of course he's gonna complain about that. You knew about this whole situation for weeks; you could have been so on top of it and not needed anyone else's help. Tonight, we have to finish moving her out before the end of the day. That means hauling the rest of her shit into storage and to my home, transporting her beautiful cat, and cleaning the apartment, top to bottom. I have work tomorrow and I know I'm going to be exhausted at the end of this.

I know she's just exhausted and overwhelmed. She broke down crying at one point while I was over there; unemployment is stressful, as is losing her home. I'm sure things will be easier when this is all over. We will have time to negotiate out how to share this space, and she will have time to recuperate. I think that despite everything, this will all be a big relief for her. I mean, it's not exactly comfortable, but at least she has nothing left to lose.
