I Am a True and Loyal Friend

A letter to you,

My best buddy is dying. You and I have almost as much history as she and I do. I so want and need to let you know because I love you the way I love her. I don't ever have to explain because we all lived it together. I need comfort but you would be the last one she would want me to call because she despises you for the way you treated me.

I'm not calling because of my loyalty to her...how sad that I can be more loyal to her than I am to myself.
