So whats the point of using a spy balloon instead of just.. You know, anything more inconspicuous?

We live in the age of AI, high tech satellites, Tiktok, and numerous other things that certain countries could use to spy on people; what advantage does flying a big ol' balloon around accomplish?

In the way : you shot my balloon bla bla bla bla...you bully, me victim,,now let's go to war !
