I Wish They Were Still Here

Distance or time apart,
Should never change
what's in your heart.

Although it's been a while,
since I've seen their face.
I let the memories
take its place.

Like a well read book
Dusty and worn on a shelf
Forget about the cover,
what's inside reveals the true self.

I hold my friends precious and dear,
and always wish that they were here.
