Good morning SW 🌞

I am trying a new breakfast place since my favorite place closed. I am trying the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and home fries.

There's only one place left where I live that still serves breakfast, the other two closed a couple of months ago within a week of each one because they failed a health inspection, the other because they decided to raise their prices, again, the fourth increase since covid started, no one wants to pay $19 for a bacon cheeseburger, or $11 for a simple two egg breakfast.

@NativePortlander1970 I am sorry to hear that 😥 I heard in California after passing a law raising minimum wage to $20 an hour that a happy meal now costs $18. ☹️
@Musicman Now it's $20? The last I heard it was $15.

@NativePortlander1970 That is still to high.
@Musicman Definitely, the higher wages activists refuse to believe that raising them raises the costs of goods and services, as well as costs jobs, the self checkouts in retail and ordering kiosks in food service are the end results of such activism.

@NativePortlander1970 Yes they are. ☹️ I believe it was a McDonald's in Minnesota that is trying the first fully automated restaurant.

@NativePortlander1970 Are you ready for a burger vending machine? I'm not. I would far rather go to Five Guy's.
@Musicman It's In N Out in Las Vegas I miss the most.

@NativePortlander1970 I have heard of them, but I have never seen one.
@Musicman The best fast food smash burgers you'll ever have, but their fries, meh.

@NativePortlander1970 I haven't been there either. I have heard of them though. Now who has the absolute best burger you have ever had in your life? For me it is a place in Tallahassee Florida called Ted's Montana Grill. 💖💖💖😋😋😋
@Musicman For fast food In n Out was my favorite, for casual dining there was a small coffee shop across the street from the Washington County courthouse in Hillsboro, Oregon, about 25 to 40 minutes SW of DownTown Portland, depending on traffic and lights, that made the best breakfast burger. It was a 1/3# Bacon and fried egg Tillamook cheddar cheeseburger with the works, with hashbrowns, I got it before work every day.

@NativePortlander1970 Are they still in business? Do you ever go?
@Musicman I haven't lived in Oregon in the Portland area since March 1998, so I'm not sure if they're still open or not.

@NativePortlander1970 nope I wouldn’t pay that for a 2-egg breakfast. There was a diner in Oklahoma City that had good breakfast specials and we used to go up there sometimes for breakfast. I think back then it was a a couple bucks, maybe $3 with coffee and sales tax. I know everything is a lot more expensive now. Restaurants are starting to fold due to the high cost of rentals here.
