Fall Weddings
I am sitting here listening to fireworks going off at the reception for a friend's daughters wedding. I was invited and I am sure the food is good, but honestly I am fine in my antisocial self sitting here in my recliner writing shit that no one will read.
I got an invitation to another friend's daughters wedding in early December. My friend and I have known each other since childhood and he is one guy I can always count on and he knows the same about me.
I watched his kids grow up and I cried with him when his son was killed in a motorcycle accident. His daughter has basically been gone since graduating from high school 8 years ago and while both his son's worked for me at one time or another, I was never really close with his daughters.
As I read the invitation, I breathed a sigh of relief. It said, "This is a formal wedding and we request that you wear a suit and tie or an ankle length gown if you are attending." I will be damned if I am buying gown just for one night.
