All my friends are not great right now. I hope getting a job will help me be more social. My boyfriend is lame right now and I wanna talk. Not looking for anything but talking.

First, friends shouldn't be toxic. If they are, then they aren't really friends. They are more like enemies hanging around to have fun poisoning your life.
Second. Do you mean this current boyfriend is lame? Or that your boyfriend is going through a spell of being somewhat less than interesting?
Third. I think getting a job is an excellent plan. What kind of work are you hoping to get into? Will this be a summer job? Are you going back to school in the fall? Or is the job you're looking for now, meant to be long term? What are your interests, job-wise?
