Friends of Destruction ...

I always hear about broken hearts and trauma from romantic relationships.
But I barely hear how friends can completely destroy you as well… Most hide it lately i have had this happen......

This is true. It's rarely talked about, but it can really be devastating. A close friend often knows our deepest thoughts, secrets, and vulnerabilities. If they end up turning on you, they can end up really hurting you with all that. Not only that, there can be deep, profound grief over the loss of a longtime close friend.

It's happened to me in the past. I tend to be rather guarded with my friends of today which can have a set of problems as well.

@masterofyou I think I am starting to understand the people I chose to be in my circle to begin with.

I always thought there was something wrong with me, but it was more about the bar I refused to hold up. It comes from how I was raised.

Sadly, it's much harder making new friends when you get older. I am certain I would do a lot better with whom I would chose to grow close to.

@Peapod There's absolutely nothing wrong with you and its certainly hard to make friends with the new generation..... Being apart of the 50's, 60's and 70's was much better in my opinion....

@masterofyou You make a good point about the times back then, as opposed to now. Social media has done little to help forge lasting friendships, or keep them.

@Peapod Social media is good at canceling... Cancel culture is the thing right now....
