I Think Good Friends Are Rare

I think you should respect people's anonymity online. If a person joind this site just to vent and have fun then she/he might not want to say their real first name, state, etc. It does not even matter if the person acts nice, you still have to be cautious and you still have a right to be anonymous.

Exactly! I don’t share my personal information with strangers. I’ve had some get mad at me, but too bad for them. I value my anonymity. If I get close with someone, and we’ve established trust and friendship I may share some, but not always. It depends on the vibe I get from them.

@ChampagneOnIce They have no right to get mad unless they have bad intentions. One of the people that got mad at me ended up harassing me.

@SW-User I had a similar experience back on EP with someone who was unstable. I'm more guarded here. I've had a few here get mad that I won't tell them my first name or where I live. They don't have a right to know that information unless I'm ready and willing to share it. I have no problem not being friends with people like that.

@SW-User I feel safe for the most part. People get offended by the silliest things nowadays. I was recently blocked by someone because I didn’t reply to his message even though there was nothing for me to reply to in it. He basically said something like, “chat later.” It didn’t require a response, and I don’t like chatting which is clearly stated in my About Me and my message intro. Yet he got all bent out of shape about it. 🙄 I blocked him back and carried on with my day. 😄 I don’t have the time nor patience for people like that.
