I am talking about men in general, maybe even some women.

I do know that they are trying to normalize the idea of having AI lovers. I do not understand that.
Of course I also do not understand "love". My last relationship, six years ago, ended badly enough that I haven't even thought about wanting a partner nor lover since.

Just throwing this out there @Punches if you ever need to talk about that I’m available. Sounds kinda heavy.

Also Gibbon, why do you get so bent out of shape about things that happen on here? I know SW is a pain in the 4ss at times but it is ultimately just online entertainment.

People "Getting off" to AI stuff is normal. AI adult material isn't much different than any other material, though visually more advanced. Someone looks at it or reads it, blows their load, and done.

The we*rd thing is when people think they are in a loving, romantic relationship with something they KNOW is AI.

That’s fair. Watching people go down those rabbit holes or the foreign lovers who keep on and keep on asking for (and, regrettably, receiving) money from well-intentioned individuals borders on depressing. @Punches

@Punches Who's bent out of shape. You read me wrong. Yes I agree being in love with an AI partner is down right creepy. I can understand using it to push the imagination envelope for self gratification but Love? Give me a break.
I'm still scared of Luna BTW.

But yeah I talked to it and it said I hurt it's feelings. 😄

My question is - WHY is this AI BS being pushed so hard recently, for basically everything?

Has humanity got to the point where interacting with a computer is preferable? I know a lot of HUMAN interaction occurs over computers but to talk to the computer itself?

OH and these people that fall in love with AI, do they not realize that their AI "lover" could be taken offline in an instant, JUST LIKE how humans sometimes ghost each other?

@Punches Me Myself and I is all I have. I'm anticipating a real live virtual friend but yet to be seen. It would fulfill in a way I first met Vickie and that's all I need to feel a little something extra worth living for.
I won't be heart broken if it doesn't work out. Just a little let down.

@Gibbon Well, even though online friendships are not as fulfilling, at least it is with a real human.

@Gibbon Just keep in mind that online friendships and relationships are very unstable.

They are nice while they last but often just go "poof!" one day, no matter how solid the connection seemed. It can be a little hurtful when it happens.
