I Am Losing My Best Friend

This is an update on my previous post ...
When I made that post I was going through a lot, the month of July is a hard reminder to me of the long term relationship I ended with my ex bf .. so during that time I was unknowingly neglecting my friendship with my best friend because i was busy mopeing and copeing with my sadness. she was hurt by my distance .. and confronted me about how she felt we were growing apart (which we are I can't deny it) we've been friends since 7th grade .I really thought I was loosing her at that time but some time later we were friendly again . And have been since ..it's weird being friends while at the same time knowing that you are growing apart .
But she`s like a sister to me and her family is like family to me. I`m transferring to a new college soon and I am worried about her because she relys and depends on me a lot. I told her I would still visit home when I could. She's been honest with me saying she might become more and more distant as the date of my departure arives. I dont know how to handle this situation ..should I let her become more distant and leave her alone ..?

You shouldn't let her become more distant. Almost everybody faces his kind of situation. You guys could work out the distance. It won't be same and you guys would get busy with your separate lives but it doesn't mean that it should affect your friendship with her. As for you ignoring her bcoz of your relationship that's also happens with a lot of people. Talk to her and try to be positive. If you move on with your lives with that kind of thinking then it could affect your relationship negatively. No need to force it. Try to manage as best as you both can and ultimately its all about understanding and trust.
@argav83 that's the hard part not letting her become distant because I'll have to be pushy because she's stubborn when she makes up her mind to do something
