Who else thinks straightforward people are underappreciated?

People without an agenda. People you can trust. People who are honest with you when its not what you want to hear. People who don't just join in when everyone's bitching about someone. That it's possible to be straightforward and simple but still an interesting person. These people in my view are like gold.

Pretty much adore them, but they are hard to find. People get mad at them because unknowingly they may reveal a weakness the other person is not ready to deal with.
The best thing anyone ever said to me on EP was that I need to be calm and I was better than the behavior I was demonstrating. Wasn't in those words, but it did help me grow as a person and think a little bit more of how my actions looked to others.

@Bootsiebaby They are wonderful virtues.
I am sad to say some people's idea of honesty is to blast you with all your faults or what they perceive are your faults.
I think tact goes a long way and if you are just as honest with yourself I do not think you fall into that trap as much, because you acknowledge you have some faults of your own

@Bootsiebaby I think balance is important. Just being honest and trustworthy without other traits such as tact can put you at a disadvantage in some places and rigid systems

@Bootsiebaby I'm obviously not aware of your situation, but I'd say online trolls are just people with nothing else to do who like seeing people's reactions to things. I have had many trollish moments myself, whilst I see the value trolling brings to the troll, when its continued over a long period of time I do question whether the troll has anything better to do

@Bootsiebaby To be clear, if I troll its normally in real life and its to either annoy or see a reaction, not normally to hurt someone much unless they've hurt me and they should know it, and I mostly will explain if it was a response to someone upsetting me

@Bootsiebaby But why do you/they care? If it was me I already know there are people like that around. Life is too short to waste on them or to waste trying to find out their motives

@Bootsiebaby Yeah its good that you are loyal, but not everyone is like you or your friends, and this troll obviously isn't. You can waste so much time trying to reason or work out the motives of unreasonable people

@thejoe27 Balance is always a good thing.
Most people won't take what they dish out.
It is far easier to give advice than to take it. I am all for truthfulness, but not for bullying. If you only attack others then you'll never admit your own faults, which everyone has.

@Bootsiebaby I was answering joe?

@SW-User Yeah I agree with you. I know people who are all into 'honesty' when that means brutally pointing out other people's shortcomings but when the spotlight is shone on them they hate it. They're not honest with themselves.

@Bootsiebaby I have an opinion and I shared it was all.
