Inviting to parties

Have you ever been invited to a party and the feeling you get is they invited you out of courtesy? And not because they like you or they even know you that well to begin with?

It happens. There is always a scope in the future to know you ..it starts however with courtesy .nothing wrong in it?

@Soulspace: sure that makes sense. but my feeling was i got wind of it and they were backed into a corner and had no choice but to invite me.

@wave001211: Sometimes people invite others to show off themselves..their wealth, grandeur.Sometimes it's just kindness..

@Soulspace: perhaps. i don't want to sound bitter and all but i can't help but have a cynical view in all of this. i guess it has something to do with all the experiences i had in this sort of thing.

Yes like that time my roommates had a party at our apartment. I was like mother fuckers I live here -_-

@Nonexistent: mine's not that bad. it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth knowing what they were up to. and it bothered me for a bit until i was able to sleep on it. sad thing is that i get to see them often, but don't invite me for the sake of just inviting me because we have common friends and all.

Sounds like a dinner with the extended step family. Lol.

@LadyBronte: what a good analogy! it's a good thing i had a good enough excuse and begged off from it. i guess they had no choice but to do that since i caught wind of it and they are backed into a corner
