How do you break-up with a close friend for good?

For the past several months, I've been having an issue with a friend (a former girlfriend) who once played a major role in my life, now continues to be a toxic presence. This ranges from ignoring boundaries to being only available when it's convenient for the person.

For those that have experienced such a person--what did you do to restore normality to your life and cut a person like this out? Thanks in advance for constructive answers!

Send her an honest text expressing your real feelings towards her then be clear to her that you do not wish any further contact from her. Remember to give your gratitude for her positive contribution in your past but that you think it's time to part and move on with your life for the better good.

Dont break up... just find more friends, ones who appreciate you and enjoy your company and you will notice that your emotions about her will fade into nothing so that nothing she does bothers you anymore.

It's simple, you can either tell them you no longer want to be friends, or you can ignore them until they get the hint. I'd be honest, make a clean cut and start moving on.

I think you can simply not be available 😊

Be far too busy enjoying the freedom of being single to have any spare time.

This is very true :) Honestly, there are better outlets to put that energy into, for sure!

You need to cut her off. Change your phone number, email and don't give in.

Sounds the most rational, guess I was looking for confirmation bias on a decision that I already made.
