Making new friends was not easy at first for me

Making new friends was not easy at first for me, this was at age 8 after immigrating to the United States from Germany when I was 8 years old, said I talked too weird with my German accent. It took time and finally happened with my friends Jeff, Mark and Louie, they said cool accent and accepted me in. Got to know me more and told them I was originally from Germany. My parents were glad they came into my life. The biggest thing that made me realize they were good friends was being told they will be there for me no matter what. One was noticing I was not happy at times 12 year ago. Finally in 2011, came out as transgender to them. They stood by me adjusting to the changes with me now as female with them supporting me through my 3 year transition. They say I am the same person but much happier in life calling me Mika now

Very heartening that you found real friends: ones who didn't mock you for your accent, supported you and in later years accepted your transgender nature.
