How do you forgive yourself for something that you did a long time ago?

That you didn't know your friend wasn't actually over it and that you are still friends and are roommates and hang out all the time?

acknowledge your wrong doing,forgive yourself first, then ask for the forgiveness of those that you have hurt and of those that hurt you.
