Remind me, how does an adult make new friends in real life?

I've thought about approaching people like when I go on my outings solo but I'm sure people will think it's weird because, in this day and age, it's all about 'online'.

People would rather meet a stranger online than talk to another human who is also at the coffee shop, park, skating rink etc.

You know, I'm gonna try it one day soon and see how it goes.

It’s not you. It’s the narcissistic culture we’re in right now. Followers better than actual friends.
I know someone who prefers a bunch of simps to a reciprocal friendship.
This is more rampant with women.
But on more serious note, just keep talking to people everywhere. It’s the right time to join an outdoor group activity like hiking, running, yoga etc. When talking to people being as casual as possible, yet sincere helps. It’s attractive.
