Remind me, how does an adult make new friends in real life?

I've thought about approaching people like when I go on my outings solo but I'm sure people will think it's weird because, in this day and age, it's all about 'online'.

People would rather meet a stranger online than talk to another human who is also at the coffee shop, park, skating rink etc.

You know, I'm gonna try it one day soon and see how it goes.

It was alway hard for me to make friends because I'm shy and anxious, especially now when I'm in adult world

Anyway I started uni last year and I talk to only one person, but it's still something and now we're literally roommates😭 she just approached me with "heyyyy you're *****?" and then we stuck together.

And this was the same for the 1 year, now I'm in summer semester and I wanted to meet someone new so I signed up random for running club, because I have always wanted to go running but didn't know with who... So we have uni running club and next week I'll be there for the first time so hopefully I'll make new friends
