What's the stupidest thing you ever heard of anyone have a fight over?

I once got into a disagreement with a friend about whether California was horizontal or vertical. It makes me laugh thinking about it now 😄 This was before the internet so we had nothing to go on and we argued about it for at least 45 minutes.
