Do all online friendships have a shelf life?

Freedom and anonymity online can be a double edged sword. On the one hand, makes people braver, more willing to share which makes forming beautiful and deep connections much easier. But on the other hand, people can often disappear without explanation or simply stop responding after a while. I like to tell myself that real life or other pursuits have taken up their time, rather than assuming they've gotten too bored of me :) But even if that is slightly delusion, for all the special people who have put in the effort to stay in touch and continue to chat to me, your friendship is deeply appreciated. In times like these when making new friends can be even more challenging, you are shining lights that warm the recesses of a lonely heart ❤️. So thank you again :)

It depends on the person

I have had friends whom I never met in real life but met online oin chat rooms and forms and we are still in touch over 10 years now

Can we be friends 🤗

It depends on how the friendship develops. I have a friend I met on EP about 13 or 14 years ago. We have maintained a friendship for the last 14 years, but we maintain contact. It really doesn't matter if it is an online relationship or an in person one, if you don't maintain it, it ends.

Mostly yes, there are only so many things you can communicate via electronic communication.

Most do, I’m convinced.
