Have you ever had a friend who makes you want to mind your manners?

I recently connected with a friend with whom I haven’t interacted in years.

When we started chatting, I was so excited. It brought back all sorts of memories.

But then I was struck by the most curious of emotions. Having this friend around makes me want to be careful about how much of a jackass I am.

What’s interesting is that my friend is about the least critical person I’ve ever meant. At the same time, my friend has little tolerance for blatant ignorance.

Though tomfoolery is completely ok.

This is why we need friends to call us on our bullshit.

So, I’m not going to delete any posts. But, knowing that my friend is here has cause that thought to cross my mind more than once.

I can't think of any friend like that right off, really.

@Piper We love you just as you are <3

Thank you for telling me that, @SuperA. It means a great deal to me, knowing that. ❤️ to you.

I tend to speak as I feel.. mostly even I don't know what I will say :P So the chances of someone editing me are ... pretty slim :P

@Adaydreambeliever I have reason to believe that a user has replied to my comment here.. I cannot see it as he seems to have blocked me.

@Adaydreambeliever It was a fairly benign comment. You aren't missing anything.

@JoeyFoxx fair enough.. I just wanted the person to know that I couldn't reply.
If this friend isn’t critical, no need to delete anything. Besides, like you said, we all need someone to call us on our bullshit

I used to have a real life friend like that, just being around her made me want to be the best version of me.

Hmmm I'm always the same so I would not be ashamed for any friend or family to view any post of mine unless its simply a private matter that I prefer not to share.

I do have friends like this.

I try to be this friend also. But I might need to work on my approach because typically people are so butthurt and offended. They think I am being an asshole, which isn't my intention. Then they stop talking to me or paying attention. Then I feel like anashole and can't figure out why most people who know me accept this and understand it hut others dont.

Anyway. Thanks for giving me some perspective.
