What would you do?

Got a friend I have known for over 30 years. He is not educated and I am a postgraduate. Until recently we got on well together.
But lately he seems to critcise everything I do and worst copies me. Example yesterday I bought a new pair of reading glasses. Cheap ones. I put them on my desk and went to bed. Today when I got up I looked for them everywhere could not find them. My friend turned up and I asked him has he seen my glasses. He said no. But then suddenly he went upstairs and came down with them. He said they were on the shelf. I know they were not because I checked earlier. Which means he must have had them. What should I do tell him to stop lying and not let him in the house in future or just ignore it.

First, talk to him, and request him to be nice to you and show equivalent respect to you. Just request once, so that he doesn't accuse of not giving him a chance to rectify his actions. Such people hardly change. They change only when they are smoked real bad in public. If he doesn't change then unleash fury on him. Once and for all, this course of action will either bring your friend back to normal or it will make him walk away from your life forever. He'll be ashamed of himself and will regret losing a friend like you!...Good Luck!...☺
