What would you do?

Got a friend I have known for over 30 years. He is not educated and I am a postgraduate. Until recently we got on well together.
But lately he seems to critcise everything I do and worst copies me. Example yesterday I bought a new pair of reading glasses. Cheap ones. I put them on my desk and went to bed. Today when I got up I looked for them everywhere could not find them. My friend turned up and I asked him has he seen my glasses. He said no. But then suddenly he went upstairs and came down with them. He said they were on the shelf. I know they were not because I checked earlier. Which means he must have had them. What should I do tell him to stop lying and not let him in the house in future or just ignore it.

to 3503501a. I did say I'd known him for over 30 years right? And I know the glasses were not there because it was the first place I looked. And I know I left them downstairs on the table the night before as I was working on embroidery then.
Thing is I have noticed other things go missing too when he's around and its only when I say 'where are my .....,' they suddenly reappear. If I had not been looking alongside him downstairs. I think he would have said they turned up there. But as it was I was downstairs so he had to go upstairs and find them!

So as Serenitree says Yikes!

M3JollyMiles I'll do as you say and see what happens will let you know.
