Do you ever pretend to be super boring in an attempt to get someone to stop talking to you?

I'm super talkative but I occasionally stumble upon people, online and in real life, who are really sucky conversationalists and I'm generally too nice to just start ignoring them or to tell them that I don't want to talk to them anymore. So I generally try to out bore them by being as uninteresting as possible and sending them short messages that have little substance in an attempt to get them to back away on their own.

I tell them I don't feel like talking...I don't get what is so hard about speaking the truth

@Fernie That's not really the truth though because in reality, it's not that you don't feel like talking but rather that you don't feel like talking to them specifically. As I said, I'm very talkative. I love to talk, but not to people who respond to everything with a tiny variation of one or two worded replies when I type paragraphs. That's not much of a conversation and certainly not one I ever like to have. It goes nowhere. To say that I don't feel like talking implies that I'm just not up for it at the moment, not that I'd prefer they not contact me anymore.

@JValentina My point is....be honest and tell the person the truth...everything you've said implies that you want to find a way to make this person stop what...being boring? Talking too much?,,,everything but speaking the truth. Whatever the issue is....I say tell her the truth...the way you said it here...yes...it IS the truth...it sets you free...and you won't have to keep suffering with it...TRUTH
