Better you know before you are counting on them
You never really know someone until you live with them and even then most people do not reveal 100% of who they really are ,
Try putting your life in someones hands and pray they don't fail you ,
After that you don't care what their character flaws are
at least you know they won't run out on you just because their scared too .
I used to have 10 friends I knew I could call in the middle of the night ,from hours away ,and I knew they would come .
Bail me out of jail ,give me a bed or a couch ,
But sadly death has taken all but 3 of them ,and they are old like me .
Now all of us rely on my kids ,they never fail me
and now my grandkids are all grown up ,they step up too .
Never stop caring or give up ,,the example you set sometimes is contagious
and its rarely the ones that I helped that stepped up for me
it was strangers ,,you reap what you sow

That's not your best choice but it's a choice we each have an opinion on.

How would it be possible to stop caring? You would have to care to stop caring to do that.
