What's the unquestionable proof that someone loves you?

I think that if someone truly loves me, then he/she would care about the people and things and animals that I care about. And that he/she would respect those most important to me and will protect what I would give my life to protect.

It's a simple determining factor. But somehow, I realized that failing it makes me question one's motive for getting close with me. Because to be honest, if I love someone, then I like to think I'd care about these things about him/her too. Or at least, that's what I hope.

For me it's not the words, but with consistent action. He always put me ahead of himself. Would sacrifice all in order to give me anything I wanted. If I asked for the moon, no questions, that crazy man would try and figure out a way. When he looks at me, I see myself through his eyes and I'm beautiful. Next month we will have been married for 30 years, together since we were 15. How I was sure he loved me at that point? He let me go, it broke his heart, but he knew I needed to spread my wings and experience life without him because we got together so young. We were apart for a few years, enough time for me to build another life. We married a few years after we got back together.
