What's the unquestionable proof that someone loves you?

I think that if someone truly loves me, then he/she would care about the people and things and animals that I care about. And that he/she would respect those most important to me and will protect what I would give my life to protect.

It's a simple determining factor. But somehow, I realized that failing it makes me question one's motive for getting close with me. Because to be honest, if I love someone, then I like to think I'd care about these things about him/her too. Or at least, that's what I hope.

Two qualities for a good relationship, I think, is loyalty and respect. So I would consider proof of some ones love for me is if they would lie to protect me.

Would they have to? Lie I mean.

@Casheyane No. That's why I would consider that an act of true love. See, I won't lie for myself but I would lie in an instant for someone I love. To protect them.

@Dainbramadge I think I understand but I'm not sure if we're talking in the same context. Because for example, someone committed a crime. Then I wouldn't say it's always love to lie for them. Is this what you have in mind or something else?

@Casheyane No I think that. I guess depending on the crime. If they would be stealing stuff I don't know if I would because that would disturb my thoughts of respect. Respect for themselves and me. But, if the crime was beating some jerks ass for being a disrespectful ass and they lie to the cops saying you didn't do it. I feel that is love.

@Dainbramadge Ahh, then yes :) Reminds me if the marauders in harry potter. They all turned to animals to help their werewolf friend. It's sweet.
