What is your perspective on this?

Adam goes through a messy separation and is supported by his friend, Emma. She has health problems so they mutually support each other almost daily, instigated mainly by Adam.
A few months on, Adam goes quiet and Emma is confused until she finds out he has a new girlfriend. She finds out via someone else. Emma eventually tells Adam she feels their relationship has changed and he is bewildered and asks why. They meet in person and Emma says she feels that Adam pulled away when before they were talking a lot. He is bewildered and apologises but Emma just goes quiet and cries. What would you think of them both?

I'd think that the story is a lot more complicated than a single paragraph can say, and that the only people in a position to judge either of them are Adam and Emma, and anyone else who's actually been there, up close, and knows the larger details of the situation.

We human creatures have an innate craving for easy answers, and for deluding ourselves into thinking that we have those answers. We want to KNOW, but we rarely want to take the time and put in the effort to actually make that knowledge legitimate.
