What is your perspective on this?

Adam goes through a messy separation and is supported by his friend, Emma. She has health problems so they mutually support each other almost daily, instigated mainly by Adam.
A few months on, Adam goes quiet and Emma is confused until she finds out he has a new girlfriend. She finds out via someone else. Emma eventually tells Adam she feels their relationship has changed and he is bewildered and asks why. They meet in person and Emma says she feels that Adam pulled away when before they were talking a lot. He is bewildered and apologises but Emma just goes quiet and cries. What would you think of them both?

Adam leaned on Emma while he needed to. She was ok with that. Had he told Emma about the new girl...shed have been happy. But by not telling her.. she felt he was hiding it. If hed previously been very open with her and then wasnt....shes right saying their relationship has changed.....but He cant see that because his need of her was the basis of their friendship. Now he doesnt need her so much....he cant see how this affects her....surely...she should be happy for him.
But....shes realised actually...she dudnt mean as much to him as she believed she did.
He hasnt done any thing wrong.
Nor has she....but shed feeling a tab hurt....maybe used a bit....

I think i know these people well......😕

@RubySoo Surely Adam is wrong though for using her?
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Jenni855 But did he believe he was using her at the time? The whole time she believed they had a pretty wonderful friendship....did he believe that too at the time? Or did he always intend for her just to fill his time?

@RubySoo At the time he did but after meeting his girlfriend, no.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Jenni855 but you cant blame Emma for feeling used. And ...he stopped telling her stuff because he knew shed feel hurt and...well....was a coward.
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@RubySoo He doesn't see it like that
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Jenni855 so how does he feel. You said he thought it was a special friendship begore he met his new girlfriend. So why didnt he tell Emma he had a new girlfriend....and as a result he wouldnt be spending so much time with her?
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@RubySoo He was no doubt embarrassed as it was so quick (The new relationship )
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Jenni855 embarrassed in what way? And why not tell his supportive understanding friend ...' hey...ive met this girl'....
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Jenni855 i actually think he was probably embarrased because he didnt want to admit to Emma he didnt feel as much for her as hed lead her to believe....he hadnt meant to hurt her...but knew she would be. He felt guilty knowing he meant more to her than she dud to him.

I guess so. And because it was a rebound relationship formed only 2 months after his separation
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Jenni855 so he should tell her all this.
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@RubySoo Fact is, he didn't
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Jenni855 🤗 are 'they' still talking?
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@Jenni855 ...they rarely do. X
