Have you ever been ditched by your best friend?

We were friends for 8 years. She was like a sister to me but then she started working at a new place and I got replaced, she started texting less and we didnt hang out as often. The breaking point was when we were having lunch and she kept texting and not into the conversation that much. I was pretty hurt and told her, she said she had changed and it embarassed her and couldnt look at me in the face. We didnt talk for months after that. I feel like she's trying to reconnect and I might sound like an asshole but I dont feel like it. I also have new friends now and they're more supporting.

There ya go! Same thing happened to me recently, and we were like sisters, and now that she’s working longer hours, I understand that, however she has just like “dropped” me. It hurts. I had never been as close to someone as we were. She lives a few states away.

@LadyGrace Something a bit similar has recently happened to me, after a lifetime of being in touch. Hard to understand and sad, but I ain't going to beg. She must have her reasons and I hope she's okay.
@alan20 Exactly. I was really down and depressed for a while and felt like I was grieving, but I decided well that was her choice so I will move on and honor that. It just really caught me off guard because I never thought we would ever part as friends. We each went through the hardest times with someone, and helped each other get over it, as it was very difficult. When I think back, the only time she wanted to talk to me it seems, was when she was feeling bad. If that’s all I meant to her, then I don’t need her. It could never be the same. I’m sincerely sorry you lost your best friend, as well.

@LadyGrace Thank you for your sympathy. I suppose there's always hope but I won't base my life on it.

@LadyGrace yeeess exactly I was always there and she was almost all the time bitching about everything
@alan20 No dear. It’s time to move on. 🤗
@Alic3ack I’m sorry that happened to you. That’s an awful way for somebody to treat you like that.

@LadyGrace C'est la vie. It shouldn't be though.
@alan20 Yes, and I agree. Some people don’t have a heart. I must go now. I don’t want to but I have some errands to run. I hope you have a good rest of the day.
