Why does a person explain it in such a way that they're teaching you something you've never heard of before?

I don’t think they mean any harm. Perhaps it is just their way of making sure you understand what they are trying to say. Not that they think you are stupid. Ha ha

Perspective? It’s like a person asking a question they probably know the answer to. Or asking for advice. Same thing?

my dad gave me his grocery list the other day and asked for wonder bread “have you ever heard of it?” uhmmmm ya i don’t live under a rock.

That drives me crazy only if it’s someone who knows me well doing it.
