Debating on messaging someone?

I've known this person a few years, ive hung out with them a few times, and they use to randomly send me thumbs up on fb alot.
Well, lately they have been in mind alot for no reason.
I cant decide if I should message them since we havent messages each other since June-July of last year.
My anxiety is making me second guess myself.
What do you think?
