My best friend has been my best friend 46 years
A little lady who come in second but I love her no less has been my friend 40 yrs
Then next one has stood by me about 30 yrs
I have a few friends that I went to school with that still call me their friends ,but none like those 3
My very best and oldest friend passed away from cancer 3 yrs ago yesterday
and another mutual long time friend committed suicide when he found out he had cancer the year before that in February.
I lost many life long friends over the years that gave me shelter and food even cars when I needed transportation ,even when I was a drunken addict I wouldn't have trusted ,they did .
My Mom was not big on complimenting me (other than to call me her baby when I was in my 50's and I hated it )
But she said I was like Dad ,I could fix or build anything
And I always picked the best of friends ,she was amazed how I could pick loyal ,good hearted ,by you side to the death friends ,but I have a gift for it I guess.
To many when you start getting older leave this world before you do .
They say if you reach my age and you have 5 you know you can count on your blesses ,and I know I am
My friends are more like family than family ,and we are friends for life
Yea they do exist
I met a few from EP that have actually stopped in on a visit to Florida ,
That is really cool when you meet friends on line and they become friends in your real life too .
The lady I met must have liked me ,she came back last month and brought her husband too ,,now he and I are friends too ,
Yea Mom was right ,I do seem to have a nack for picking the best of friends ,
And for the record ,my online friends are real friends ,
When people can tell when your having a bad day by the things you write ,
Yea ,thats a real friend ,,and God bless them all ,I dearly love each and every one of them ,They know who they are

Oh yes. You just have to find the right one. Not easy.

They exist. They have always existed. And they will always exist. They're just rare, that's all. And they have a way of dying way roo soon.
TexChik · F
Absolutely !
They do... irrespective of their different opinions on things... friendship is more about heart and less about mind...
Casheyane · 31-35, F
Yes, of course.
If you're a real friend to someone, then there goes your answer.

they exist but it's difficult to meet them and create real bonds as you get older

I just had a problem with a real life person that reminded me why I am such a hermit.😕
DancingShadows09 · 31-35, F
@Mondayschild Awww, am same but worst than that, I become anti-social.
Mondayschild · F
@DancingShadows09 I always go back and try again. This time was with a person that had been in my life for 20 something years.😒
DancingShadows09 · 31-35, F
@Mondayschild Oh I see. Well, people always say test your own comfort zone and getting out of your own shell. I use this as a practice, to be honest lol.
Fantabulous · 46-50, F
