Why do people chat to you about personal things here then just leave SW?

Several reasons:
Fake accounts where the person either loses interest or is afraid of getting caught.
The person didn't get the response they wanted. SW isn't anywhere near as big as the Experience Project was, so if someone's expecting that level of activity, they might be disappointed here.
Caught by parents/spouse/significant other.
Just lose interest in general. I see abandoned profiles all the time on Facebook, Quora, and other social media sites. Heck, I set up a Twitter account, and haven't posted to it a single time. I also set up an Instagram, put up a few photos, and lost interest. Anyone finding that will wonder what happened.
