Why are there no official friendship breakups like in relationships?

At least I'd know if I was bothering someone or if it's okay to message them every once in a while. How do people know they aren't friends with someone anymore?

@SW-User That's what I was afraid of...but when I askes that person, he said we're still friends. And he knows how much I appreciate honesty

@Melpomene you can't expect all people to be as brave as you are, and blunt as you'd be towards them. just back off and see if he ever says hello again. if he never does, then you know for sure... after many moons go by. if he does say hello again, well... maybe he takes care of his friendships differently than you do.

just let him do all the initiations in communications, and live your life happily in the meantime.
