My friend told me to see a therapist?

So, I'm gonna keep this as short as possible. But due to the fact that I have not declared a major and taken courses specific to my major, I am set to graduate late. However, my friend was pushing me to take a TON of credit hours so I could graduate early. I ended up telling her that I didn't think it mattered how long it took me to get done with school because I don't foresee myself being happy in the future and I don't think anything I do is going to matter anyway. Then she kind of shut down that conversation and highly suggested I talk to my parents about seeing my therapist again because she's worried. I will admit, I attempted suicide a year ago, and have seen a therapist in the past. I do feel kind of bad again, but why does she feel the need to tell me that..?

because she is your friend and can probably see the behavior pattern you are in is similar to the patterns of the past and you seem lost, because taking classes that are not helping you to a degree is not a rational thing to do.
@TexChik I suppose you are right. However, the classes I am taking now will help towards most degrees I could choose. They are all basics classes general to almost any degree.

@marilynmichelle but the problem is you cant choose, you have no goals or direction...and that is terrifying to most students. College hours are not cheap or easy and for you to be able to get a job you need to have a plan, set goals , and achieve them.
@TexChik You sound exactly like my friend, haha. It's not that I don't have a plan. I've decided my major, but all the classes are full this semester, so I am waiting until the following semester to declare.
@TexChik And I am going to a community college that allows me to go there for free through a program they have there.

@marilynmichelle What is your major?

during my academic career , I was hell bent on success. I had decided on becoming a Doctor. Went the pre med route, had the grades, had the good MCAT scores, and was accepted to med school. And , then in my final half of my last college semester...I chucked it all and went a different route. My mother nearly killed me.
I've decided to do theatre, which I know won't be easy, and I don't in any way expect it to be my main source of income, but it's what I love to do.

@marilynmichelle That is a pretty tough road to hoe when its so difficult to make a living doing it.
@TexChik I know. Like I said, it may have to be a lot of side work, but it's the only thing I enjoy, and it's the only thing I feel that I am good at and can enjoy.
