My friend Willem
He is a good friend, and we are quite close, who is the son of a couple who were originally from a southern African country called Rhodesia (now called Zimbabwe), who left in 1981, with their infant daughter (his eldest sister).
He has a second sister who was born in London where they first went while his father was looking for a job in his grandfather’s native country, the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and the city of Utrecht.
Willem was born and raised in Utrecht, but he now lives in Berlin in Germany 🇩🇪. We get on because he sees that he has something of a similarity with me. He feels his parents have had to give up all they had in Rhodesia because of the hostility of Britain 🇬🇧 towards the rogue colony that was headed by Ian Smith.
