Congrats having your home paid off fairly early on in your life. Most people only dream of it. I bought my first home with my first ex in 1998, went back to renting as relationship went south in late 2000's, and didn't get to buy another house (by myself) until late 2023. I'm 57, with a 30 yr mortgage, but I plan on paying most of it off when I retire from work between age 65 and 75.
Neither house was new though - I'd never be in a financial position to go down a new build route. If you were, that's really awesome.
